    Trilogy swap

Hey guys I’m new to the MM
I have had my first 03 with 53k on for a few months now.
Car runs like a bear and all stock, I love it. It does need paint and I have scheduled it to be painted but I have not dropped it off yet. So I’m super confident in the paint shop but looking at $6000 done right. Then I found another 03 MM trilogy number 165 ( I believe, not sure how anyone can tell) some may have seen on jersey CL or ebay, under 60k on it. I bought it, had it shipped , the owner seemed honest but miss led me. I guess I should have slowed my roll and took some time to make sure the car was what I was led to believe it was. Anyway the car looks good to the eye from what I can see ( it was on open trailer and the weather has been snowing so had to tell exactly what’s going on with the exterior) I believe it has had some paint work, some interior work, audio work and the car is running like ****. I put the scanner on it and it’s running 2 transmission codes but the car feels like it skipping. The engine sound good and the transmission seemed to shift good for the less than 1 mile drive I took it on.
I was going to sell my original 53k MM and keep the new one for obvious reasons, now I’m thinking to keep and paint my original and swap the trilogy.
I wasn’t sure if there is a matching number type of history from car to super charger and if it would effect
What do you guys think or suggest?
    Thanks in advance

The supercharger units themselves are numbered, They were never numbered to a specific car until they were installed. If you are worried about value don't... nobody cares what car the blower came from or if it had one originally...

If your whole care does not need painting just paint the panels that do.

The horizontal panels wear first. I had my horizontal panels painted for a very reasonable amount and the car looks awesome!

First on the current trilogy car, buy new ford coils and ngk spark plugs, maybe fill us in on what tuner box you have, and who did the tune.
It might be a miss and not the transmission.

What are you asking for the car that needs paint? $$$$?????

I would decide which car is the most solid (least amount of rust, least amount of body work needed) and commit to that one. Like someone else mentioned, the Trilogy number refers to the blower not the car it’s attached to, so swapping will not alter value.

On another note, that really sucks that car was not as advertised, I hate when people try to pull fast ones.

    Good luck with your choice!

Damn, all I can say is I need to find an ‘03 with low miles like these! I guess they are out there after all. For now it makes sense to fix all the little things wrong with mine at 115K and keep it.

It does suck the Trilogy seller didn’t tell you about the issues with it; hope you get it squared away.

Back when Motorcitymarauders website was up there was a list of Trilogy numbers and their owners. Too bad it’s now gone as that would have helped with the history of the car.

Yeah, I get one panel painted every year. Just apart of the normal maintenance now.

I had the car towed down to the shop today to see wth was going on. They found no compression on cylinder 7 and around 110 in the other cylinder on that side of the block, the other side of the block was normal. They also discovered that the block was a remanufactured.
Looks like I’m in the market for a new motor.
The seller seems to be willing to help but only time will tell.
    Wow this sucks!!

Dropped Valve seats most likely. A bore scope will rule out a piston problem

What causes the valve seat to drop? I’m thinking heat but would like to know how this occurs.

There is a poor coolant passage on head at cyl.7, 8..coolant can pool instead of flow so it gets hot. Head cooling mod is cheap insurance. It can happen to s/c cars or stockers. dohc mustang guys can have same issue
