    Oil behind power steering bolts?

Seems like a dumb question, but do any of the power steering bolts that go into the block see engine oil? I have an oil leak on a fresh motor and it looks like it's coming from around that area. I unbolted the two rear bolts that go into the block and some oil dribbled out. I put rtv on them and snugged them back up.

The oil adapter gasket did not seem to be leaking at all. The leak is seems ti start more far forward, although the general area including the power steering hoses are dripping with oil as well. I suspect this is from the fan and wind from driving.

The bolts do not go into any oil passages. How many miles are on the car? If it’s over 100,000 I would definitely do the oil filter adapter gasket. It tends to soak everything in that area.

It's a brand new engine. I replaced the adapter gasket about 18,000 miles ago on the old engine. (I swapped.it over to this one

Yeah the AC compressor is also slightly oily, as are several bolts from the oil pan.

I'm really getting sick of working on this car.

Yes but it may have tacked up before I finally got the balancer on. Either way, I don't see it leaking anywhere on the balancer though. But noted.

I cleaned and dried the bottom of the car and engine. I placed some cardboard underneath and intend to let it run a bit with dye then sit for a day or two to find the location of the leak. Not something I want to **** with during the tuning process.

The timing cover where the head, head gasket and block mate

    Drivers side

    Passenger side

The crankshaft position sensor covers the alignment dowel which can have missing material I’ve seen a few. You need rtv there as well

That is probably me right there. Timing cover has to come off I'm assuming?

Yep, it’s the same for the cam covers you need rtv where the covers and the timing cover meet. The gasket alone isn’t enough.

So I have two oil leaks and a coolant leak. Timing cover, rear seal/oil pan, and rear head cooling mod leak.

I plan to knock out the timing cover leak this weekend. The coolant and rear seal / oil pan leak are going to be done when I replace the cracked flexplate. Never ends gents. See the attached pics.
