    Trans Shift kit

Hey I am going to ask. If any of you guys and gals. Have ever put a shift kit into your 4R70W transmissions. I am putting a trans cooler with a fan on my car soon. I already put a TCI bigger oil pan on the transmission already. And if you did what Shift kit did you buy. And do you recommend putting it in my car. Any information you all give me. I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot

Shift kit or jmod is too much for Me. You can do far more in the tune. Mine is at 7 out of 10 in firmness tuned by MartyO and it's perfect.

The j mod is pretty straight forward, it would be equivalent to your shift kit.

You can get firmer shifts with a tuner, but longevity also with the j mod.

If you get boost, then do the j mod

The kit or a tune to increase line pressure does increase the longevity of a transmission. The frictions and steels slip a lot in a nice, slow shift, family car. Some people don’t like the snap shifts of the jmod or a kit where it happens at low or high rom where as Marty can give you a tune that is smooth shifting until you romp on it. Talk to Marty

I had a Marty 93 octane tune. In my car before I went with my ADTR.NET SC KIT. He is a stand up guy. I will get some info. From Dan at Real Speed in Long island NY. They tuned my car. And see about the shift pattern on my trans. And if they say it can be done. If not I guess I will put a shift kit in my trans. I know I can get my trans done. At Freddy Brown in Long island NY. Just trying to see if I can benefit with a shift kit and a trans cooler. But thanks alot on your info fellas.

I choose the Jmod myself. Nice quick shifts while driving and nice quick but hard shifts when giving it the gas. I had it like that for 4-5 years. Eventually I put the accumulator springs back in. It was perfect like that. Nice quick but smoooooth shifts while driving normal. But as soon as I gave the car about 1/2 throttle. The shifts became quick and hard. It was perfect doing the Jmod but leaving the springs in.

Why not PM 88grandmarq and have him build you a Tuffplate?

Don't put in a shift kit.

Do the J-Mod with a Tuff plate.

Don't increase the pressure in the tune.
