Want to run your Marauder at 140mph for hours without a ticket?

I have a need for speed and this one does it for me. This is not racing. It is all about improving your skills and learning about what that car can really do. If you don't want to run your car but want to watch, spectating is free and there is typically a car show with tropheys.

I help run this event in April at Sebring here in Florida. All Ford and Ford powered products welcome (that means Marauders, we even have a few Jags and a Crown Vic rental car show up). Driving school on Saturday, first class dinner with raffles and prizes on Saturday night, then more open track for beginners (instructor in car with you at all times) and track dogs (that would be the instructors) run seperately Sunday. Must be 18 years old or older, have valid drivers license and insurance.

Sebring is 3.5 mile road course. Stretch the legs of that beast till you get bored. Be as hard or as easy on the car as you want. This is not racing, it is driving at speed, your speed with experienced and licensed racing instructor at all times, no tickets or radar. You will get hours of track time. I normally burn through 20 gallons of premium on Sunday.

See http://www.svtoa-centralflorida.com/multimedia.html for some video and slideshows.

The tech form showing what are the requirements (convertibles must have 4 point roll bar, never seen a convertible MM) are posted at http://home.cfl.rr.com/boydfamily/SVTOA-Tech.pdf

The registration will post at http://www.tampabaysvtoa.com/modules...&threadid=2055

    I can answer your questions.

I agree with Jim - WOW! That looks like huge fun. Of course, anything would be fun in a Cobra . . .

Sebring is an awesome track to run on, highly recommended. And very safe too, wide surface, lots of runoff room if you do have a "moment". I drove in a 12-hour endurance race there about 10 years ago, had a blast.

    cheers

DEFYANT, I might need to use the auto train too to go north at the end of Febuary. I'm thinking of visiting some faimly on Long Island. Though about this event, I'll definietely try to make it. I've never been on a road course so why not.

Note, I'm not the original owner. The original owner was a Civilian BSO that died of cancer, the wife was willing to part with the silver beauty for $19k. She had 32,500 miles on her when I got her. Now she's over 50k!

The auto train stops in VA. You will have a good 4.5 hr drive from there to Nassau / Suffolk county, LINY. If you can drive in the midnite hrs, you'll have an easier trip.

I can give you good directions through NYC and onto Long Island if you like.

I've done the trip before with my parents. I thought it stopped near D.C.? Wer're talking about AMTRAK right? Well thanks anyway. If I do go, it isn't until the end of Febuary anyway. May even get pushed back till the summer. I'm not sure. I've done the trip before there and back on the auto train so I know what it is like.

    How Far

How far is Seabring from Tampa. We would love to modify and race/run the vehicle over there. What are the requirements if you know?
