Anyone know where these go, cam out of the trunk deck lid. I wonder if they go on the arms of the hinges that the deck lid mount to. If so which way do they face?

I noticed them in between the frame and the skin of the lid, I believe they fit into the end of the hinge so that the hinge doesn't push through the top skin of the deck lid, this deck lid metal is the thinnest stuff I have ever seen, I've seen Hamm's beer cans thicker than this

I think they go in the torsion bars under the rear deck
Sounds logical but I found both of the pieces inside the trunk deck lid, if someone has a second can you check to see if they are on your torsion bars, if not then they are most likely from the hinges as I suspect. Thanks.

Took the deck lid off today and sure enough the end of the hinges are gray, same color as these rubber stoppers. Looks like one part of the "beak" goes inside the hinge post and the other beak on the outside of the hinge post with the square end facing up toward the skin of the deck lid.

Do they look like this, if so they go on the back side of the deck. There are holes to screw them into and used to adjust the deck height to match fender. The item is #2 on the deck image.
Ford Crown Victoria Deck Lid Stop 17 X 15 Buffer - 2004 Mercury Marauder (W708838S300)
There like $4.00 at Tasca Ford plus shipping ???. Also on EBAY for a whole range of prices.
If you are needing one I have a spare.
Hope it is what you are looking for, not seeing the attachment doesn't help.
On the hinge there is also a stop #10 on the image. Here is a picture of it.
Ford Taurus Deck Lid Stop Buffer - 2004 Mercury Marauder (N804783S)
Might be able to pick one up at Ford dealership. Only $2.00 plus shipping at TASCA Ford. They also have it on EBAY for $8.39 free shipping. Here is the link

1997 Ford F150 4x4 - Vermillion Red - Silver Frost
Thanks, I looked at all of those earlier, and what I am looking for is in the schematic. One was stuck in the open square end of the hinge (#8 in schematic) the other one was inside the decklid in-between the interior and exterior sheet metal. I don't know what I did with them now. Have no idea if they were factory installed or maybe the body shop at the dealer put them in there before delivery (I'm original owner). Seems to me they would protect the ends of the hinge arm from gashing the thin outside skin of the decklid
See attached, I found original image.
