Well, no, actually it took a few days and started with folks looking carefully at the pics of the “stripped” Marauder.

I can only assume based on the pics that the body shop took the time to remove all the MM parts, then bolted on a bunch of CVPI parts to hide the extent of the theft. (Something car strippers do generally...?)

i wish i lived closer, dunno if copart can do it for me. i really should have took a video and got the vin and a picture of the vin. phone tag with the insurance is so annoying and straining and frustrating. its 4 weeks and counting now.

Don't know about door panel but if car was moved after being stripped the shop may have thrown on a cv steering wheel so they could steer it as they pushed it out of the way. I'd be going crazy wanting answers so I feel for you.

I'll just say this - sorry for your loss. If you take the $7500 then minus what you owed -that's what you have to look for a new one, or get a new loan.

Once you got the $7500 the shop can strip it out or do what they want it's between them and the insurance agency. Maybe take the money and let the insurance company go after the shop rather you spend time/money. Good luck. I can't imagine the insurance agency is going to settle for a $200 hulk when they could have sold all those parts to copart as an auction car.

This is one of the issues why this makes this issue such a f**** up and complicated one, the most they can do is deduct the salvage fee (what the $$$ would be if I were to buy it back) to the amount they will pay me. But I am hoping that they do not do that, it is still an on-going string of back and forth negotiations.
