    Keep the 94' Vic Tranny?

I'm about to get rid of a 1994 Crown Vic. Was wondering if the transmission is compatible with the Marauder. If so, I wouldn't mind rebuilding it, beefing it up as a drop in replacement. Or use temporarily while working the Marauder tranny. I have June 2002 build 300A.

94 is an AODE, Marauder is 4r70w or 4r75w. 95-05 CV/GM/TC are 4r70w (06+ 4r73e). It is very similar, but would require quite a bit of work to make them compatible. The 98+ 4r70ws also have better internal parts and controls.

What Drock sid...And I'll add that inside the 4R70W world of transmissions, there are different length tailshafts to watch for as well.

    Right, with panthers:
    95+
CV/GM civilian: Short tailshaft housing (longer steel driveshaft)
CVPI/Town Car (all)/ MMs: Elongated tailshaft housing (to reduce driveline length, less NVH/ driveshaft 'whip')

There ar emany variances of the 4r70w from year to year, if curious read through this link for all the info: http://www.p71interceptor.com/tranny...vic/index.html

No, one too many cars to pay insurance on. We're using the '97 contour for the beater (and parent rental during their visit).

I wish I had another panther platform, I'd feel safer, if I get hit.
