I have driven it but when we went we encountered a lot of bad construction. It was for the MV event a couple of years ago. If you remember we also had the big rains just before the event. Lots of screwed up roads around Chicago. Stop at Harry's for breakfast on your way thru Springfield. Not easy to find but a great place to eat. Try one of the pancakes! We wtched a kid try to eat them. He took home the left overs in a 16 inch pizza box!!!!!

I'm looking at around 12 hours one way from GVL, no big deal for all the fun I know I'm gonna have once I get there.

Leave at 7:00 a.m., be there by 7:00 p.m., NBD, but I'll prolly split it up into a two day trip and enjoy the drive.
we would definitely split up the trip--two days out and two days on the way home love to see the countryside.

We'll prolly make another week's vaction for the trip, head out early and spend some time up in Wisconsin with relatives before heading over to South Haven.

    Option A: 14 hours, 7 toll roads.
Option B: Joe says fly to Chicago, ride up with him.
    Option C: Don't go.

    A is do-able.
B they don't make that much weed.
    C not really an option.

Guess I will have to start saving up vaycay days

However it is your call I completely understand. ON the road you will be missed Fly safe and I will see you at the meet!
The drive there is fine, just the 800mile drive home when I know I'll be sitting in hours of traffic into NY has me so against doing these 800 mile drives. Plus MV7, I had car trouble on the way out, MV8 I had car trouble on the way home. Both times I made it home, but I don't like tempting fate being stuck in unknown areas.

Thanks Tom, Ill think about it, but don't be surprised if there is a rental car parked in the lot.
