    I forgot about this

I just had my rear tires changed from 255/50ZR18 to 285/45ZR18 Pirellis.

What thread should I search to prevent the traction control light from going off and on and maybe any other thing I should do.

Right after I changed the tires it happened two to three times while I was driving for a half hour for three days. Now on the 4th day it doesn't happen anymore.

I just realized the odometer is not correct. My dealer is going to look at the computer program.

    Any other thoughts?

    NO!
Dont let the dealer look at the program.
You risk wiping the S/C tune out for good!
What kind of tuner/chip do you have?

    Zack to my rescue!

I have a Kenny Brown car and Ford Chip did the work.

Now that Kenny Brown is out of business, I was planning to contact them to see if they have my original program.

Should I just tell them what I did and they'll send me a new chip?

Which flash device? All you gotta do is change the revs/mile setting.

The phone is out of service.

Just turn the T/C off with the switch.

First, I see in John's signature that he has his traction control switch reversed, so when he powers on the car, T/C is disabled. If John wants it enabled, he has to turn it on.

John, from what I see, you should find a pair of front tires that provide a similar ratio of revs per mile to your rear tires as stock was, and that will allow no T/C alarms. The optimal ratio is 1 rear revolution to 1.05 front revolutions. So if you upsized your front tires to a new size, that provided that ratio or close to it, the traction control alarm would not activate.

Your other cutout problem sounded like water in the gas to me when I first read it, and the fact that it has not returned still makes me think that it was just a burst of water in your gas tank. Try using a bottle of drygas once a month or so to help eliminate water in your gas tank and collected water in your fuel filter.

The problem occurs regardless what position the switch is in the 'wavy line' light goes on again.

Another thing happens occasionally. The engine sounds like it drops a gear but the rpm doens't change. Then I press the traction control button again and the condition stops.

After three days, the above condition just stopped for third consecutive day.

Glad to hear from you again. Thanks for tuning in. As I recall you upgraded to a Cobra exhaust. I may do this too but I wanted to hear the difference. I use my phone in my car to talk to customers. And am concerned about the noise level. Am I right? If so, I go to Manchester periodically from my office located in Methuen MA (1 mile off Route 93). I have a sound meter that I use to determine the decibel level inside the car.

    1. Traction Control. Read my post just before this one.
    2. Water in the gas. Someone else mentioned it too. I guess it is possible even though these incidents have both only happened this June and last June. I buy only 93 octane from Sunoco and 90% of the time from the same station.

I just spoke to Mac and we both have Kenny Brown cars. He says that I have a "programmed ECM" that is "flash tuned". Also, I have a "blow through MAF system".

This is the correct language. He also suggested that I go back to Ford Chip (Jerry Rebelsky-spelling?).

Maybe it's overkill. But I would rather do this than take a chance.

I just did a search for SCT and found it.

    Thank you for your help.
