    Cool Grand Marquis Build

    Hey guys,

i new to your group however i am a small Mustang Modification shop in rural texas. i have wanted to build a big horsepower panther for a long time. i bit the bullit and bought a 2010 Grand Marquis yesterday. don't be haten i just want something that is a sleeper. anyway to the question. i am starting with suspension and reinforcements to the platform, then brakes and wheels, and then finally, trans and engine. can you guys give me alittle direction on the suspension mods? it is not an air sprung car so really i just need lowering springs, roll bars, and stronger upper and lower control arms for the rear and then build a rearend. do i fab or is there a manufacter out there?

Refresh my memory, whereabouts is Saltillo? Anywhere remotely near San Antonio or surrounding areas?

Addco makes the best sway bars.

Sparta and ADTR are great places to start with. I believe with the rear sway bar you would need to buy the hardware kit to even put on one. Double check on that before ordering.

You can add Hitech Stage 2 cams, a 3400 ish stall converter, Plenum/ TB/ Zip tube and P-71 airbox/ Long tube headers/ Exhaust and a Dyno tune get some 270 - 300 RWHP depending on other bolt ons.

Seen up to 340 RWHP if you use TFS heads and Intake on top of the previous list. (or a Victor JR 4.6 with custom fuel rails)

There are Throttle body upgrades for the 2V

For a 4V Marauder based (can use different 4.6 long block MMR 5.3 stroker etc) you can use a 2007 GT-500 style Throttle body to work with your Thottle by wire system. Will really need a good dyno tune to pull this off and a tuner who knows how to do this.

Despite the 2V crowds assumption, you get a fatter torque curve with the 4V with C heads WHEN SET UP RIGHT

If you want control arms on the cheap you can use the factory arms and weld a pair together after you remove the bushings from one set.
Same for the Watts link except if you want to retain the ability to alter the ride height you'll have to make a slot in the side of one arm that has the adjustment bolt. Also see Blue Oval Chips for parts and drive by wire tuning(if you can leave the car for a while).
