    Reformulated gas and the Marauder

    Hi all,

Living in Milwaukee, we are saddled with reformulated gas.

I'm wondering what issues this may bring up with regard to our
Marauders. I can drive to the next county and get normal gas but
it's a pain. I can't really feel a difference driving on normal vs
reformulated....my last tank of normal gas came right before some
night driving in dry 56 F air though.... that sure made a difference.

When I get my chip from Dennis, should I have any special settings for
reformulated gas? Should I go to extreme lengths to make sure I never
put reformulated gas back into it?

    Thanks for any input.

Use the octane level that produces no detenation, other than that you are OK to use it.

The only problem I have, is that my mileage falls by 15-20% when I'm running it. Sucks to have to pay more for less.

If your talking about the reformulated stuff, that's the price we pay for alittle bit of cleaner air. Also try a few brands of fuel out their, some give better mileage than others. The Sunoco by me has 94, I add some Octane Booster and seems to last a bit longer , running a 406 now a 434 with 498hp at the rear wheels.

    Go Ethanol

Ive been driving for 24 years and every tank of gas was Premium. UNTIL an other Garage told me to use Gas with the 10% Ethanol,
NOW this rocks, Increased by 20 % my MPG.
    I had used premium in a 87 Voyageur (V6), 1974 Malibu, 1980 Z28, 1978 Monte Carlo with a 301 CI, and my 2000 Protege.
Now my 2 vehicles the Z28 and the 2000 Proterge uses the Ethanol. And hopefully when I receive the Marauder in Canada. In the next couple of weeks, I'll be using Ethanol, I'ts octane rating here in Canada is 90, the Premium is 92, It has a lower Octane rating but has Increase my fuel Economy.
So give it a try and let me Know, before I get My Marauder. Thanks

Minimum octane rating for the marauder is 91... 93 if you're running a chip.
