    Cigarette Lighter

Has anyone else had a problem using the cigarette lighter as a power socket? Why do we have a cigarette lighter but no ashtray?

Can't seem to get the Garmin or Cell Phone cord to work in lighter socket. Ligher works and the accessories work in the console power socket. Is a console power socket a good idea? my cords keep the console from closing and put stress on the hinge.

    Any thoughts?

Ash tray fits in one of the cupholders. It might have been removed? I would go back to the selling dealer and get it looked at.

no probs here either, I've got my Garmin SP3 pluged in next to the guages, and I use the one in the console for my cell phone, no probs there at all.

    tvdone,

Does you lighter element work? There seems to be a plastic ring in my socket that allows the lighter to work, but nothing else.

Mine blew a fuse. Turned out to be a bad cig lighter. No, I don't smoke in it but I plugged the lighter in to test it and it blew the fuse-twice! Now my radar detector is hard-wired into a switched power source so I have a "no smoking" plug in that socket. The one in the console works fine for my cell phone. The non-coiled part of the cord fits in the crack between the console and the lid with the lid latched just fine.
Thanks to Darrin @ BC Automotive:
$1800 and it was worse than when he started!
