I can't see that well at night. How good is the light output at 5000k compared to stock ? Is it a major improvement ?
2004 marauder black purchased new. Sold 9/16 at 297,000 miles. Still ran strong didn't burn a drop of oil.

Not exactly. High K LEDs may have less output than lower K units of similar construction, but the real meaning of K is "color temperature."
3000 K is yellow. 5000 K is pretty much like a standard halogen. 6500 k is blue-white and is sometimes called "diamond white." From there as the K value goes up, the color goes through blue to pink to purple at 10000 K to 12000 K. Blue is the color to which the human eye is least sensitive so higher K value lights of the same power are going to appear less bright.
Unless you want to attract some attention from the police you are best advised to stay between 5000 K and 6500 K. This all applies mainly to HIDs. Unfiltered LEDs are usually around 6500 K, so some brands of LED replacement headlamps include colored glass sleeves to get yellow or blue.
