If your poking around the rear end..... I highly recommend moving to 31 spline axles and a better clutch pack, or, better yet, a Detroit Trutrac....

I wiped out my clutch pack even before Trilogy.

    It Depends! ...

As stevengerard said: (It) "All depends on what you are looking for ... ".

I had my Y2K PI detuned to under 600 hp, and even with 3.55 gears, street tires are way short on traction. I have a 3.08 complete axle to replace the whole assembly with (hoping to soften the bottom end somewhat, and not smoke the tires for the whole 1/4 mile).

Rear Gears and Higher Stall TC

I'm looking at CAI and tune for sure. Not building a 'race car' but looking for a more 'sporty' drive train response similar to my Mustang and maintain good fuel economy.

Has anyone gone to 3:73 then to the 4:10s? 3,500 stall TC? Will a tune bring down the torque peak from its present 4,250 rpm?

My Mustang is a true pleasure to drive with it's 3:31 rear gears, CAI and tune. Love the way the transmission shifts with the tune. Thought about going to 3:55 on the Mustang but straddling the fence at the moment.

Edit: After reading an article on the PI website I'm starting to think I should leave my Marauder stock TC in place? Still leaning toward 3:73 - CAI - tune at the moment.

If I had the blower first I wouldn't have changed the gears. I did everything possible while NA but still wanted more.

I will contact MartyO before the end of this summer (maybe sooner) for sure as he appears to have unanimous support and rep here. Still straddling the fence regarding gears and torque converters. Trying to get as many opinions as possible.

Mustangs are smaller therefor 3.55’s is no doubt an upgrade. If the Marauder left the factory with 3.55’s, would 3.73’s be any kind of upgrade? No.

Lean all you want, members here have told you before they are a waste and to go straight to 4.10’s. Too heavy of a car to bother with anything less.

    I had 4:10's, PI3000 stall, and a Trilogy.

Perfect setup for street runs I could be cruising @30-35mph and light the tires whenever I felt.

I know I'm going to have severe traction issues with my new setup. May be going back to 3:55's

If I had an automatic I wouldn’t have anything less than a 3000. With Marty’s tune, driving normal you probably wouldn’t even tell much difference but the feel of a lighter car/easier to accelerate. WOT it would rip.

    That’s N/A. With a blower like mine, 3500-4000.
