    Leaking trans towards the rear

Any you guys ever had the rear extension shaft gasket leaking on your Marauder it's not the rear extension shaft seal it's the gasket where the extension shaft connects to the main part of the transmission

When the stealership was replacing my fuel pump, they also said my trans was leaking where the tailshaft connects with the transmission. He said I could put off the repair for now, but is that where you are referring?

Make sure it’s not a hairline crack in the tail shaft housing. Very very common. So common that Ford normally stocks it for fleet accounts..

    Question

badass mm - I checked on the extension housing and it comes up obsolete ****
Don't know if the transmission housing extension for the 4R75 is the same as that for the 4R70, however, both the regular (F3LY-7A039-A) as well as the extended (F5UZ-7A039-A) are still available from FoMoCo (according to parts.ford.com).

Just beware the followup email when you checkout from Ford saying that part i s not longer available. You can't trust a lot of these sites since they aren't always updated. Or at least that is my experience. But good luck. Maybe it is still available.

its common for the o-ring on the output shaft to get brittle from heat. when this o-ring fails, fluid runs out of the inside of the slip yoke and drips off the front U-joint.

If you are going to have the extension housing off, make sure you replace this o-ring.
