    New Marauder Owner!

    Hey all!

Finally got the Marauder i have been wanting. I have been reading all your posts and been patiently waiting for my car so I can also be apart of the discussion.

I ran into a small problem though and I need your guy's input. Car is in amazing condition and runs so good. The only drawback is that it has a knocking sound coming from the engine and it's from the passenger side. I have no idea what to do. Some people said I might have to change the entire engine and that it's not safe to drive.

Now it's sitting in my driveway...please advise me on what to do. I live in Orlando, Florida so if you guys know anyone around here that can assist, that would help me a lot.

Can you post a video, sound clip of the noise. Also is the noise when cold, idling, constant after warmed up? These cars have some injector tick that is noticeable. What miles on your car? All stock? common issue is timng chain noise from worn guides, but generally not until around 100,000 ish miles give or take.. Need more info to help pinpoint

Whatever you do, don't drive it! Only start it up enough to get a sound clip for diagnosis. If it has not jumped time, you don't want it to! Oh, I do have an engine for sale.... 2004 103,000 miles on it

    Welcome and Congratulations!

Yes, post a video so we can take a listen. It may be a couple of different things. It may be timing chains, injector tick or a cylinder head issue or none of these. There are already a number of videos on Youtube with MM noise issues that you can take a look if it is something similar. These engines are notorious for having the overheating issues which lead to the knocking or ticking noises.

Wow you guys are amazing! So happy to have this support. It's an 03 with 111k miles and there is no knock during start up. The knock starts after the car warms up. I will record a clip tomorrow first thing.
