    Exclamation Need help documenting value!

Well after months of looking, I found a trunk organizer for my Marauder that I liked and bought it. It was New Old Stock but not in the original box. It was a little dusty from sitting in a warehouse but that was it. At my request, the seller brought it to a pack and ship store, where I paid to have it packed so it could be insured... when I received it, it was damaged. The shipper approved my damage claim but wants to verify the value of the trunk organizer before they pay me.

My problem is I'm having difficulty finding recent ads with pricing.

My thought was that a NOS trunk organizer out of box to be worth $500.00.

The newest ad on the forums was almost a year old. Recently I've seen used ones on Facebook for $450.00 OBO... If anyone can comment or PM me with current pricing that I can use to present as proof of value to the shipper I'd be grateful!

I can't help you with the documentation but I can tell you a like new civilian trunk organizer is worth at least $500 or more.

I called Parts.com and they are discontinued. For some reason they keep them listed online. But thanks, Justbob!

Im sorry but I just don't see how these go for so much. If there were around $250 or so I could see it but at $625... that's some decent cash that can be spent on other items, now granted I have never had one in my cars so I cant comment on how useful they are,

It was a Factory option, on the window sticker. My car came with all Factory Options. Helps add to value and authenticity. If it's missing, and on the original sticker, not-so-much.

I had one in my first Marauder, don't have one in my current and I wouldn't mind having another one, but I can also live without. I understand why many find them useful though!

    Arrow

MM03 ... when I received it, it was damaged. ...
Out of curiousity, what was damaged? Do you have a pic'?

If the damage was the handle(s) in the carpeted tops/covers, I can provide you with an OEM source for them.

*In 2003 I purchased a *new* one from ebaY® and when it arrived it was damaged - a couple of the plastic handles in the carpeted tops were broken due to poor, no packaging. Hunted-down the supplier (southco) and was able to purchase replacements.

The damage occurred in the bottom section.
All four corners were bashed in and one corner had a hole in it. I settled with the freight company and they agreed to refund my purchase price and shipping cost.
