Leather Jacket?

Any one got a Marauder leather jacket they want to sell?

I have a guy that bought a pre-owned Marauder but he wants a jacket also.

Be careful of the ones on Ebay if you want an "official" jacket. The ones that go to owners have a tag inside that say "For Mercury Marauder Owners", or something like that. (Sorry, not at home to look at the exact language.) A lot of the ones on ebay say something like "For Mercury Marauder", without saying for "owners." The jacket itself may be the same, but some people want to stay "official", so I'd look carefully before I bought one.

This is a great opportunity to explain a weird happening.
Those of you who know, bear with me, this is for future '04 buyers.

ALL of the folks that bought '04 marauders were at some point wondering what happened to their promised leather jackets.

The fiasco began when the folks at L/M decided that the 'free jacket' advertised for buying a Marauder in '02-'03 was not going to be offered to buyers of the '04. It was a first year bonus kinda thing. L/M cancelled their account with the company that was making the jackets and all personal that handled the free gifts and merchandise were moved on after a particular date that the '03's were no longer produced.

Someone at L/M dropped the ball however and never told the dealers, and the jacket offer continued on to the '04 buyers. After several months of new buyers complaining that they never got their jackets...things became apparent to the L/M folks and they were in a serious bind. Having basically fired the jacket company, and the folks that handled the mail in cards and such, they now needed to go crawling back to those vendors to make things right with some very disgruntled MM buyers.

I'm not sure how many folks that bought '04's got jackets, and how many didn't....but wow, what a mess.

They will obviously become harder to find as time goes on.

Good luck with your search, and watch out for cheap imitations.

I have an original size "Large" which does not fit me (fits small). The knuckleheads at the dealership just didn't get it!

I dunno... I got the card in the mail 2 weeks after I bought the car and the jacket about 2 weeks later. But....I did buy it in Jan. 04.

There are no "cheap imitations" Both versions are "official" It's just that the jacket that comes with the car has a label that says "Owner" the jacket that was available for sale along with the hats, shirts, keychains etc, was identical but omitted the word "owner" from the label.

Billwork, I sent you a PM. My friend has a XL jacket for sale. it is an original MM jacket. He got rid of the car and will sell the jacket. It has never been worn.

Bought my 04 in November, received card in January, and jacket arrived 6 weeks later.
