    Modified FPDM vs Stock FPDM

    Some people say it's no change in the stock to modified. Well I'm here to tell you it is. The heat sink in the modified version is a lot bigger. That's the part with the coiled wire.....

    The bigger heat sink helps to prevent thermal shut down of the FPDM when running bigger fuel pumps. The bigger pumps are a great load then our stock FPDM was built to handle.

    Ur darn right theres a difference! When running stck one with my set up twice it died on me in summer once I changed over it never happened once.

    My Marauder I just picked up does not have a boost-a-pump. Doom was asking me why it has no boost-a-pump and wanted to know if the FPDM was modified, so I asked Zack, whom I bought the car from. He told me he did not have to modify the FPDM or install a boost-a-pump while running 2 ford GT pumps because he put in a return style fuel system with the Terminator long block.

    You are correct. If you running those two big pumps with a return style your good. If your fuel system was still stock meaning return-less then you would need a BAP and modified FPDM.

    The donut thing is not a heat sink, it's a toroidal transformer of some kind...possibly used as a choke to suppress transients when the pump is switched off and on.
