    What's needed for Whipple upgrade

I have a cobra supercharged engine in my MM. I would only take it to Mo's or Lidio whoever is closer for a tune. So I just checked and Lidio is only about 4 hrs away compared to about 20 hrs. Made appointment going in 4 weeks.

Anyways just wondering what is needed for a Whipple upgrade. I'm guessing a whipple obviously another fuel pump, larger injectors, but what else because I want to make sure I give him a heads up.

Call and ask... he'll know what you need.

What lower end do you have? Stock.forged? Unless you have forged lower, Whipple isnt really worth it, but if you got Forged lower & already got a Eaton upgrading to the Whipple is easy. More power bigger injectors, upgrade FS,possibly a few more items.

I've already asked him a million questions. I don't want to become annoying. But the lower end is stock. Just wondering why is it not worth it. Any more detail?

The Whipple will produce too much boost for a stock lower to handle. You might could dial it down but for the money you would be better off to go with a Eaton swap. If you were planning on a going with a built motor then the Whipple would be perfect.

Confusing? First post says you have a Cobra supercharged engine, later you say stock. Exactly what do you have?

BTW, I live in the area if you need a ride to the airport just let me know.

I'm guessing it's a stock Cobra short block.

The engine is stock not rebuilt now I guess the Whipple will be too much too handle and the blower should be good enough.

Thanks for the offer but I'm towing the car there.

If it is from a supercharged, 03/04 Cobra, then the engine can handle it no prob. What year CObra and did the engine come with the Eaton?

I already have the engine installed in the car. It came from an 03 cobra with the supercharger already installed. If I have to rebuild the engine that plan will have to wait. If its just adding a Whipple and a few other parts I'll strongly consider it.

Add the freakin Whipple dammit! Most of the hp gain (same psi Eaton vs. Whipple) from a Whipple is due to a much more efficient design. Less parasitic loss. Less heat too! That engine can handle more than you think. DO IT!!! I am.

+1^^^. If the engine is out of a 03/04 cobra, WHIPPLE THAT GIRL! You will not be disappointed.

I ordered mine through these guys.

    It shipped straight from Whipple.

Since you ordered it, is there a reason you didn't go larger than the 2.3?

IMO Whipple on a stock MM block is not at all worth the expense a lot of money . However if I understand correctly you have 03/04 Cobra long block? if so as others said put that Twin Screw on & spin it to 20psi. With a good tune you will be completely fine the Termi guys do it all the time with 0 problems. all comes down to Whipples are not cheap so spending that kinda coin get youre $$ worth.
