VAPS unit

My VAPS is inop on my 03. My rack is perfect other than that, would prefer not to replace the whole rack. Does anyone have a wrecked low mileage car they'd remove the VAPS unit from and sell? If not, I guess a known good rack would be an option. I can get a new Rockauto piece for $165 for the whole rack for reference.

Keep in mind that the marauder uses a different part number [quicker ratio] than the GM for that ventage

Yes sir.. Seems it's impossible to buy new unless through Ford, and that's a complete rack. I haven't found a source for just the VAPS, which is all I need, my pinion is immaculate

Hot damn, I was waiting for you to reply.

Below the oil filter, on the rack, there is a solenoid with a clip holding it onto the rack, and a 2 wire harness coming off of it. THAT piece AND the piece it slides onto. There is about an 1 7/8 nut that holds it on, and a couple steering lines that run into it.

Interesting. I had never heard that the ratio was different.
Does this mean the MM is alone in the Panther platform in the rack and pinion ratio?

Yes. And good luck finding one except maybe a dealer.
