Return fuel system - whats the preferred method?

Background: Eaton'd black 03. Fairly conservative in the mid-400's HP. Runs great but have issues on extreme hot days typically 95*F+, usually to or from the track. After some hill decent(inj shutoff) the fuel system turns off and wont restart. Luckily I have always been driving with friends so I pull the FPDM out and cool in another a/c'd car and back on the road for a while. If I hold the throttle I can keep it out of inj shutoff and prevent it from happening from then on. FPDM is upgraded.
So while the fuel system does keep up with my power demands I am considering a swap to a more reliable return system and ditch the crappy FPDM, which may open me up to more future power also.

Question: What's the preferred method for setting up a return fuel system, I've searched and not much info has come up, other than use the evap lines as the return lines.
Do we use aftermarket rails or 96-98 cobra rails?
98 style fuel pump assembly - swap my aero340 into?
    98 fuel pressure regulator or?
do you use both the fuel pressure regulator and maintain the FRP sensor or ditch it?
If using the evap lines for return, delete purge valve and retune?

Seems a good handful of members here have done this, I'm surprised more info is not readily available
I eat apples until my stomach feels much more full than its normal.

I used the stock hat and only modified it by adding a racetronix dual pump wiring kit, a second feed, and a return fitting (both -6). Then I added an adapter from the stock outlet to convert to -6.

I ran the two -6 supplies to the frame rail and used a Wye block to convert to -8, thru a Magnafuel filter mounted to the frame, then off to the back of the drivers side fuel rail. (Aeromotive for 04 Cobra) Out the front of that with now a -6 to the front of the passenger rail. Begin return out the back of the passenger rail thru an Aeromotive regulator, then back to the tank with -6.

I just used Summit hose for everything, and mostly Russel fittings. For pumps I run dual Aeromotive 340's, and 80# injectors.

So once again, original outlet is pump 1, blue on the left is return, blue on the right is pump 2, and the yellow is the Racetronix wiring.

Here I mounted the regulator to an aluminum bracket I made to also act as an EGR delete.

All the relays and fuses I mounted to the panel behind the spare tire and routed them down to the hat thru a grommet. I already had a power distribution box mounted there for my amps so no power wire needed.
