    G scale train opinions please

So LGB is kaput. I was semi impressed with their quality, wire between engine and tender would break after 4 nites, but very impressed with repairs. What other makes have sound and are of good quality?? Is USA Train truly an american company?? Gotta get my outdoor stuff ready for xmas.

I believe Bachman has a line of G scale.

As I lay rubber down the street, I pray for traction I can keep, but if I spin and begin to slide, please dear God protect my ride. -Amen

I was positive Lionel was still making G scale stuff until I looked. I know they were making a G Scale Christmas Train as of last year.

LGB is outa business? Damn... Their stuff was horribly expensive but I'd run the tranks in a freaking snow storm and they were fine. Their quality was top notch.

I have a TON of G scale stuff. I had a large 30x30 outdoor layout at my parents place when I was younger. I'm saving it to set it back up when I have kids.

Bachman isn't to bad I just remember buying a few of the their cars and the quality just wasn't there. Lionel DID to G scale for a little bit I think.

I also have my grandpa's empire of Lionel O gauge trains tucked away too. He had 3 rooms in his basement a layout with tunnels from each room. He passed away when I was young and while he was in hospice he said he wanted them packed up and given to me when I turned 20. I have a room in my house full just to store them.. One day I hope to have them up again.
