I passed 210,000 miles today. The first week of January will be 7 complete years of ownership. I put approximately 152,000 miles on the car. Still the original engine with the trilogy, 2nd trans, and 4th rear. I’m averaging just over 21,000 miles a year. It needs a driver’s seat, but I really can’t complain.

    Congrats buddy!
How in the world do you drive so many miles per year??
I might do 3000 per year, plus road trips.

How are the blue cars holding up?

i haven’t updated this in a while here is a little back story and current status....

In august of 2019 at 218,xxx I replaced the s/c head unit with one from a torktech kit and rebuilt the trilogy snout, some modification was needed. I had two blowers in pieces at 4pm had to drive a 3 hour round trip to get the correct bypass shaft bearings to swap the bypass to the right side for the trilogy. I was on the road to Woodward the next day by 11am.

While the car average 22mpg at 80mph to Detroit and back, I was never happy with the way the blower sounded,I drove the car anyway since it drove fine.

In March of 2020, I took it to Florida. I noticed that the AC stopped working and the passenger front window regulator decided to quit enroute. I repaired the regulator in a parking lot and after my trip started buying parts.

I drove the car until April of 2020, the exhaust leak from the cracked headers became unbearable and I parked it.

I didn’t want to deal with the headers so it sat until April of this year. The hardware was so deteriorated the only option was to pull the engine. It took 6 hour to get the headers off the engine with the engine sitting on my tool box. I called Kooks and they ghosted me, I tried for a week to talk to someone about repairing them at my expense and the never returned a call or email after they said they could repair them a month earlier. I got them repaired by a friend that has a custom exhaust shop.

While the engine was out I dealt with the A/C... new compressor(the old one sounded bad), condenser, evaporator, and dryer... I reused the old lines after flushing them and installing new o-rings.

All the insulation on the firewall was garbage, I removed it and sprayed Lizard Skin sound and heat coatings on the firewall.

Since my engine has 235,000 mostly supercharged miles on it and it was low on compression in 2 cylinders, I wasn’t putting it back in the car. I pulled a spare engine out of storage, I installed new timing components, all new external gaskets, a new Stewart emp water pump, a new oil pan, and new motor mounts. Installed the headers with stainless hardware, bolted on the trans, and reinstalled it into the car.

I installed a new Crown Vic battery harness by moving the anchor points along the cam cover and modified it for the trilogy alternator location.

Currently, I’m waiting for my original trilogy supercharger and snout to be remanufactured with a new rotor pack and returned.. Then it will be a day to get the car running again, get the a/c charged, and work out any bugs. After it runs, I have all the parts for a suspension and brake rebuild, I also have new tires waiting, and fresh painted hood and driver side fender.
