My '03 has a slight A/T fluid leak/seep from the bell housing and has developed a whine when under acceleration that goes away under light throttle and coasting. I understand that means the front pump. Otherwise runs and drives fine with no issues.
Can anyone recommend a rebuilder in Central Florida? How about buying a rebuilt one online - any recommendations? And any opinions on those available from Monster Transmissions?
Also, how hard is it to replace a front pump yourself? I've never worked on a transmission before, but it looks like the pump is the first thing in line after the torque converter - easy to do or disaster waiting to happen?
Car has 154k miles on it. Also, how long are PI 3,000 stall torque converters good for? The car still has the one on it when I bought it in 2007 at 69k. I have no issues, but that's about 85k+ miles even though I've never raced it.
Thank you in advance.
