    volt gauge.

ok so i'm well aware that the volt gauge is a glorified idoit light, however when i hit the power window buttons the needle moves to the left. shouldn't it not move at all?

Windows, a/c, headlights...they all pull voltage. Upgrade the alternator.

The volt gauge is spot on, it works. The oil pressure gauge is the worthless one.

The volt gauge shows actual voltage, it's not worthless

i know they all pull power but if the gauge is inoperable it shouldn't move at all right?

Yep. I知 to the point of having to roll up one window at a time they are so slow. Gauge drops to 12 flat with just one and been that way a few years. Guess I値l have to actually install that 200 amp alternator I bought a few weeks ago and upgrade the wiring.

That痴 like work though. I値l probably procrastinate it awhile yet..

I would pull the brush pack and see if one is stuck. My used / new to me alt is working way better than the old one i had that took a crap. I bet the motors in the windows are just not up to snuff, or not getting enough voltage since the alt is worn. My old alt was at 12.5 with the headlights on, i always worried that if i drove too long the battery would be dead cause the alt isnt keeping up...

Could be all of the above but most likely power. One at a time is normal speed. They were slow since new at normal speed IMHO.

I have to limit my accessories as I知 quite lazy anymore. Lights on w/stereo and amps, 12.8ish at the lights. Turn up the sound 12.. A/C on, keep volume normal, lights off, A/C off to roll up the windows. It痴 a drivers car LOL

Also keep in mind my Derali tornado fan runs at all times. Something else to fix. Someday.

I did the big 3 on mine, im not sure if it made a difference upgrading the positive and negative wiring from alt to battery, and grounds.
