    Detail or paint touch-up first

    Hello all,
    I would like your opinions.
This spring after I bring the Rauder out of storage I want to have the car detailed and some touch-up painting done.
What should I have done first? Detailing or the touch-up?
Thanks for any and all ideas.

It seems way more logical to me to do any touch-up work prior to detailing...

    Ask whomever is detailing it.

Professional paint touch up is really considered “paint correction”.

Paint correction and detailing are two completely different jobs.

If you already know you need a few areas addressed, then you need to call a detailer (preferably a small one or two guy shop with referrals instead of a chain shop) and ask about paint correction services and their procedures.

If your car is BLACK or BLUE do not take it to a detail shop

You will have swirl marks, guaranteed

Clay bar the car, top to bottom. Windows, black trim tail lights wheels grill blinkers headlights EVERYTHING.

Now that should take you 8-40 hours. Not kidding

So now you know EVERY single scratch and pock mark, talk to a shop who can fix the paint defects

Tell them you want the clearcoat polished and want zero swirls

    Thank you all.
The paint corrections will be done first. This was my choice also, but I wanted other opinions. My marauder is toreador red. The corrections are very small. I will be taking it to a shop that is a fairly small. My car will be there for a good part of the day.
    Thanks again for the input.
