That sucks! I'm assuming it was an aftermarket balancer? Did you collect the balancer and was the bolt and piece of crank still there?

I've heard that running a double key in leu of a single can be the difference of a spun balancer vs a busted crank snout. Is this a first for you?

The crank was the only part of the shortblock we did not change last year.It was a Lunitti crank that was 5 years old with at least 300 runs on it.On a higher h.p. engine you have to have a double key on the crank for drag racing to keep it from having a spun balancer. For a street car it could be different.Yes, it was a first for me.
