    Help with Eaton Swap Please!!!!

    I just installed the Eaton on my Marauder. Took it to the tuner. He got half the tune done. The car runs great until it gets to temp. Then it dies. It will restart but will not idle. He can't finish the tune on the dyno. This ever happen to anyone else? Or anyone know why this is happening?

    Third that, why didn't he finish the tune while there?

    How much did he charge for half a tune?

    Did you leave the car with him or take it home?

    $400 for what he did. Had it 6 weeks. Changed sensors and other stuff that weren't reading right. I got it back Thursday. I just went and picked it up. Drove it for bout 20 minutes and ran fine till it got up to temp then won't idle. Made 13 lbs of boost and hauled ass till it warmed up.

    If you have a stock internals motor..13 lbs. boost is a little on the high side. what are the specs of the motor? miles etc?

    Stock motor other than the Eaton. It was between 10 n 13. It ran great. Until it got to temp. It will start back up just won't idle. Friend says may be the IAC

    stock motor with eaton swap are mostly in the 400-425 rwhp range and 9-11 psi. this keeps it safer for longevity, go too much and rods and pistons are short lived. i would give all your info to martyo, pulley sizes etc. and have him give you a tune. his shop has tuned hundreds of marauders from stock to 700+ hp ones and from local to canada, germany etc. my car is there right now for upgrades. a blown motor will cost $5-8k depending on labor.

    who did eaton install? cooling system was opened up for it, did you or they do the proper cooling system burp procedure to make sure all air is out? if not then you may have an air pocket causing it to get hot, but that usually happens quicker than 20 min.

    Ran hard prior to getting up to temp is bad anyway so if it's shot there are more than one reason.

    You'll be glad you did..Marty is all about service and that is not a M-F 9-5 thing either, He works with you sat. sun etc..to get it right.

    You may spend some money again, but Marty won't leave you high and dry.

    Good luck getting it going and have fun but you are pushing your luck real hard with boost that high on stock internals. You may want to rethink the boost level before you start another of many threads here looking for blinds/curtains for the new window in your block.
