    Question LCM tear down

I would like to disable the part in the box that makes the chine. This will be the easiest solution for my issue. I haven't opened the LCM in a long time. Is there a speaker or is there something else that makes the noise? What do I have to do to silence this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Good luck.

How about fixing the cause of the chime sounding off?

Dom, I recall there was some sort of transducer that makes the chiming sounds that you should be able to unsolder. Just remember that all the other sounds will go away, too, like the "headlights on", the "key in ignition", the seat belts, etc.

Yes, but the recall has nothing to do with Dom's issue.

Not true. I have changed the clock spring, air bag, checked plug connections for the lower seat bracket. I've had enough. Now, I'm looking for the easy way out, not always. No shame.

That's fine. It'll be like driving my 93 Ford.

Need to work on your car, but it's raining? Buy coffee at Target and use their underground parking garage, technically it's not loitering.

I might get heat for this, but I don't care. I managed to silence the chime my car was making by tearing down the LCM and destroying the little piece that looks like a black cap, that's what makes the noise. If you do this, be careful. I managed to keep everything else functioning including the click for turning signals.

This will result in no chime at all. Not for start up, opened door, lack of seat belt while driving... nothing, but if you need those warnings you shouldn't be driving anyway.

No kidding, it's going to be falling out of the LCM and ohms will be getting on everything.

Just use some ohms cleanup spray and you are good to go.

I thought they quit making it, when they went away from Isocyanate's.

I'll have to check mouser and see if they have any.
