    Stock Torque Converter..!!

    Hi guys,

How can I know if the torque converter needs to be replaced. By another word, what do I observe on the car if t.c. needs replcement?

    Odemeter reading is 160,xxx miles.

Also, is it recommended to stay with stock t.c. or needs upgrade with

    N/A.

What symptoms are you experiencing? If by some chance you need one an upgrade wouldn't be a bad idea being you'll already be there.

The car is heavy while accelerating specially at low speed. last week, I had found a trans. oil around the oil pan while the oil level still o.k.. Also, I found a slight oil leak from the bearing between driveshaft & transmission & a low noise coming from differrential. When I release the gas pedal at low speed, I hear a sound coming from the transmission.

My bet is your axles took a hit and the metal is in the rear end - helping binding it up.

Ever have the gear oil/trans oil changed before?

I don't mean to derail the thread but I just have a quick question. What is the advantage to adding a high stall convertor? What does it do? I have seen alot of NA MM with them and was just curious.

Tailshaft is leaking. How does the TC feel when it locks up?

I hope not so. Gear oil was replaced in Dec 31st 2009. Up to now I have completed 54600 miles on it. Trans oil with filter, 2 weeks ago. Tomorrow I'm going to check the defferntial pnion & axles.

may be i didn't get your point but when it locks up, i just release my feet from the gas pedal & drive very slowly. Actually, I feel the car is heavy in driving. When speeding up, I don't feel it like when driving slowly.

Does the tailshaft bearing makes this problem..?
