cold air intake from zeus performance?

Look at this and let me know if you believe it is worth 15 horses.

Pretty tall claim without any dyno numbers. What are they trying to get for this combo? Our MAFs are already pegging the volage limit as it is, has this got a larger MAF sensor? So many unanswered questions.....

Without a price, who can say if its worth it or not? Larger MAF aside, it's still sucking hot air from the engine compartment, and I'd guess you would have to include the cost of a dyno tune to take advantage of this upgrade. More 411 would produce a better answer.

I don't know how well it can be calibrated after seeing the oil cap breather in the last photo !?

    Pro-M

It is just a Pro-M meter and cone. I can tell you that Lidio has seen about the same numbers on his car with the Pro-m. I just installed one too, but went with the shorty since I run a S/C. It is a little smoother and quieter, but you HAVE to build a box around it. For example, on a 30 degree day, I see a 6 degree difference in my IAT with and without the airbox I made. I can't imagine what it would be like without the airbox on an 80 degree day!

    The key is

the phrase "up to" in the ad.
I agree that as shown, it's sucking in some warm air.
    I'll pass, thank you.

Looks like a Pro-M with a bracket. The one you buy directly from Pro-flow has all the adapter fittings and the conical filter but doesn't come with a bracket. But if you're going to build a custom box anyway, why not incorporate the mounting into the box? Another thread which just started up on Pro-M MAFs is here:

I agree, unless it's pulling cold air in with some velocity, any gains are likely to be minimal, and not terribly consistent, depending on the atmospheric condiitons.

    P.s.

Agreed, it wouldn't really benefit an NA car especially for the 300.00 - 450.00 that it might cost. The Marauder airbox itself (not the MAF mind you) seems good to somewhere around 400 RWHP.

It looks cool...that is for sure...I would feel better if one of the vendors from our site came up with one that they dynoed....so we knew that it worked real well with our cars specifically.....

Just realized what the title of the thread is. Nope, it's not a cold air kit. Just a MAF and conical filter, actually more of a "hot air kit" since it doesn't have any way to insulate engine compartment heat nor duct in cold outside air.

I think i'll pass on this hot air intake as well. Without a box, or some sort of shielding that would help to isolate the filter from as much of the hot air as possible, I think such a setup would be useless and cause massive power loss if you idle a lot and drive during some of the worst traffic each day. I too would like to see a reputable vendor from this site design a good high flow intake setup preferably using an S&B conical filter(I don't like K&N's), that is protected by a box, or shield from the hot air in the engine compartment.

This might be a good time to reiterate (not picking on june, just quoting her for an example):

It has been determined that the Marauder intake setup is one of the best-flowing intakes Ford has ever put on a car. Unless you're adding a blower/turbo/nitrous, there is no benefit to changing it...even the much loved/hated K&N has declined to build an FIPK for the car, certainly because of the limited appeal, but also because it won't IMPROVE anything...
