    Engine Install This Week!

Finished all the little details on the engine, it's ready. Gotta do a little bit of work on the car before it goes in, so maybe late tomorrow or sometime the next day it'll be installed.

Here's the fittings and wiring for the oil pressure sensor and warning light switch:

A closer shot, ps pump and sensor removed:

And here with the sensors installed:

Something else new, a flexplate shield:

Another view, see the sfi sticker:

Other side, look close and you'll see the modified mounting bracket for the dipstick tube:

Unfortunately it didn't clear the header, glad I bolted it all together before engine install. BFH fixed it, but violated sfi certification by modifying:

    Starter heat shield:

    and slightly rerouted tranny lines:

    Looks awesome. Good luck.

Where does your remote OF mount?

Did you ever have a chance to break down the old engine for an anal?

Mounted on the frame, just barely clears the sway bar but it's tucked in there nice and safe while being readily accessible for service.

Haven't had time to mess with the broken engine.

I can't wait to see that thing plugged in! Doesn't somebody make an oil accumulator, maybe Moroso, that precharges your engine oil pressure each time you start it up? Since you're going remote, that might be a wise addition. And yes, I know it's easy for me to spend your money!

Yeah, I've been thinking about that but I can't figure out a spot to mount it. Check with Scott & Jason at Team Ford, they dread seeing me come in any more because there is so much "stuff" mounted in the engine bay you have to disassemble something for access to anything.

I think you'd mount it with the remote filter assy. Where are you putting it? Left front inner fender? That would have some extra space, I'd think.

It's on the inside of the frame rail under the air filter, been there a couple of years. No extra space there due to pipes between supercharger, intercooler, and throttle body. Both front fenderwells are filled up (water injection, auxiliary tranny cooler, brake cooling ducts) as well as the fenderwell recess at the shock/control arm (PCV trap). I'll study it some more once the engine is back in.
