    Exclamation Evenflow cooling modification

    Hi Guys

One of the first things I stumbled across after joining this forum was the Evenflow cooling modification and how important it was to prevent cylinders 7 & 8 overheating, burning valves and the pistons picking up, so I fitted a kit to my stock Marauder.

Well after a stroll around 30 plus Marauders at Carlisle I didn't notice a single modified cooling system even on the high power supercharger enhanced cars on show, how come this kit is lauded on this forum to prevent lots nastiness yet no one seems to fit one?

    Regards

Do you know what you are looking for. Sherm and I both have cooling mods installed by his son. We both have return style fuel systems. You might not be able to identify which is the fuel line and which is the coolant line. I think Evenflow is out of business anyway. Others have created modifications to the base design.

I have one installed. Had it for 8 years.

Some say it works, other say it doesn't. For the price why take a chance.

    Similar.

I think musclemerc's uses larger diameter fittlings and hoses to provide increased flow.

I got one of Zack's set-ups on my car, hard to see with the blower and all installed.

The rear cooling mod is cheap insurance to protect the heads/valves from the well known cylinders 7&8 overheating issue.

I have, (gulp) DR's kit for Eaton swaps. It's actually a really nice kit with the pieces machined.

The way EvenFlow designed theirs it is easier to spot than some of the ones that came after.

Is that the one with the fittings offset-machined so it clears the Eaton lower intake?

If so, how do the fitting sizes compare to the Musclemerc kit?

I really need to get one for my car but Im on the fence as to which kit to go with.

Yes. Mine DR kit is offset for the Eaton.

I know Zack makes a kit offset for Eatons.

Travis's kit, I do not know. I would assume he would make one offset to clear the Eaton.

Justbob and I installed Zacks kit for another members Eaton swap and it worked.

I know what I fitted to my car from Evenflow and after 32 years in the motortrade I think I would know the difference between a fuel line and coolant hose.

    Hi 1st Merc

I guess that is why I didn't notice any cooling mods fitted, I was looking for a return pipe into the top hose as in the Evenflow design and other mods must use a different coolant return method, I didn't actually lean in under any hoods to see if there were any fittings on the back of the cylinder heads.

    Regards

I want to do it at some point, definitely when I supercharge someday. But after 141,000 miles, my motor runs perfect, so it just hasn't been an issue that I am overly worried about.

    Cooling mod

Had one put on mine after I had the burnt the valves in the #7 & #8 cylinders. I had DR do mine after he put a new motor in for me, never a problem after that. Wished I had it done before I put the supercharger on in the first motor.
