My full time residence is in the Todd Park area of Charlotte (Tank Town) but I’ve been in SC (Johnson Crossroads area of Aiken Co.) since September 1st due to a ‘family emergency’ - one unexpected ‘death in the family’ and another one that is expected and imminent. Hurricane Florence was just a 'curve ball’. Closest town is Monetta, SC but the closest major automotive services are in Leesville, SC.
The stalling-idling issue seems to have been cured. No more ‘erratic idle’ and I dare say the car now idles perfectly, even better than before the issues manifested themselves. I find myself looking at the tach to make sure the motor is still running!
The last time the ‘Check Fuel Cap’ and 'Check Engine’ lamps illuminated, the local shop replaced the ‘fuel vapor purge valve’ (firewall) just over a week ago. I dropped it off at the Leesville shop not long ago so they’ll have it first thing in the morning.
