    Boost Gauge

Since my MM is now blown I want to add a boost gauge. I see Jegs sells a single pod for the A pillar which may not look too bad. What paint is needed to have it match my (black?) interior? I believe it is a 2 1/16 gauge, what is the right brand and model gauge to get. Also does anyone use a tell tail or memory playback gauge, if so what brand and model.

If I go with the mounting in the console next to the other 2 gauges will I be using the same gauge as the A pillar mount? Also how does that plastic tray come out that holds the gauges in the console. I assume an electric gauge is preferred over a mechanical.

    Parts #s would help also...Thanks

Grip the guage console pod firmly and pull straight back.

The Gear selector has to be moved back from the park position to allow enough room to clear it.There is an angled spacer for the console guage.
    It is available from Autometer.
Good luck Mike, and tell us what how you decieded to configure it.

    Mike:
AutoMeter makes both a matching gauge and the angle rings...

    Gauge: # 4301
    Angle Ring: # 2234

The exact paint is apparently no longer available from Ford, but part #PM-19M547-4149H is a very close match. If you go for an A-pillar pod, paint the pod and the pillar. If you mount it with the other gauges, paint the angle ring and the gauge panel. That way no one will notice the very slight colour difference.

The P/N's for the 2 1/16 Autometer boost gauge and correct interior paint are here, just search on them. There is also a 2 gauge pillar pod.... for future mods.....

This part # is for a mechanical gauge. Is that what most people are using?

I am going to install it at the console, but I think I will move the boost gauge to the first position on the left.

Excuse me, but I find it hard to believe a blown MM. doesn't have a boost gauge already installed with the S/C'er------to me--it surely should have come with it automatically when installed...........IMOP...... ..Tom

Mike bought a kit from F.I.T. which does not include a boost guage.

Mike, the Auto-Meter 4301 is the most popular boost guage among Marauders, and looks quite nice when mounted in their #10111 A-pillar guage pod. It comes complete with tubing, fittings, and a green "sock" to go over the bulb. It matches our factory guages quite well. You should not need anything else for install on your car. If additional fittings are required, head to your local Napa store and get one of Balkamp #701-2109 boost guage kit. As far as a place to tap into, Try to use a vacuum line as close to the intake manifold as possible, and just "T" into it. Make sure the line does not have a check valve in it.

Right above the gas pedal, about 6 inches, you'll see a grommet. That's a good spot...

Marauderman, we do not include a boost gauge in our kit because of the diffrent locations and styles of gauges for the Marauder. Everyone has there own prefrence of what and where they want there gauge.
