Thread: Speed Bleeder Screws

    Speed Bleeder Screws

Needed to bleed my brakes and just wanted to do it myself without bothering anyone. I picked up some from the local parts store and I figured out the thread size is 3/8"-24 but I do not know the correct length. The only ones they had were 1.19".

Does anyone know the correct Overall Length for bleeder screws?

    It's either 1.18", 1.19", 1.24" or 1.29".

You can't use your own screws? with a catch cup made for bleeding (about 8 bucks at most stores? I just did mine a month ago trouble free.

You could always just "gravity bleed" them. If you are not in a hurry just open the bleeder and wait, fluid will begin to flow, wait till is is free of bubbles or if you are flushing the system till you see clean fluid. You start at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder RR, LR, RF, LF in that order. I have been using this method for years doing brake flushes and even rear wheel cylinders without ever having a problem.

Found out the correct Overall Length is 1". The ones I got were 1.19" so they were too long. Called up a friend and he is going to come over and help me bleed them.
