When is an Aftermarket Throttle Body needed?

At what point is it necessary to install an aftermarket throttle body? My build is going to be north of 500+ RWHP. I'm running a D1SC Procharger at approx. 15-18psi. I need to know if I should consider one. Also, what are the benefits from a dual or single? Thanks in advance!
You "feel" the difference because you want to "feel" the difference. Since you just spent money on the upgrade you "have" to feel the difference

I'm looking to eliminate the double pump process I have to follow right now to get the pedal hard

2003 300A Procharger #0017 D1SC (SOLD. Last I heard, it was in Washington State)

After using the search function it sounds like I may get better throttle response, if any. Seems that because I have a centrifugal blower, air is being forced thru the TB and I prob won’t see any gains.

    Stock Mach 1 TB - 1089 CFM

    D1SC - 1400 CFM @ 32#s

But like you said, it is getting pushed in.

    My F1-A pushes 1575 @ 38#s so I opted for the 03-04 Cobra Accufab that flows 1696.

These are all max air flow numbers and my race tune is only 26#s but figured why not splurge.

Didn't Landy's (I think it was him) Acufab SBTB cause his motor to grenade? Something about it or cable jamming wide open??? Don't remember ever hearing the full dope on what actually caused the problem.

I remember something but not much (unfortunately that goes for most things anymore).

Mine had just the tiniest amount of sticky feeling off fully closed position and then perfectly fine. I remember checking it thoroughly before install, loosening the blade screws and shifting the blade ever so slightly to better the fitment. Mine also idles way high at around 1,150 IIRC at the lowest possible setting. That is after I reset the idle screw and adjusted the TPS to perfection and already had the tune set at minimum RPM. Before that she idled around 1,300. Being a stick car high idle just makes it easier to drive, especially in traffic so no biggie. I couldn’t imagine having to stop in an auto with that idle or all the brake pads you’d go through.

I believe my idle may be from my modifications to the intake for retaining the stock location of the IAC. Jeff assured me it is a mechanical part and not in the tune. Perhaps too big of an opening? I keep saying that I’m going to experiment with some bubble gum blocking part of it off LOL but haven’t yet.. If it weren’t for being a PITA to access the V band and remove the throttle body brace (okay the brace is easy) then I would have by now.

I just add it to the long list of things that needs to be addressed. It’s so easy to not GAF when most all travels are to the store and back and annual mileage is less than 1,000!

Post #12 shows the intake modifications.
