    Metco Watts Link Installed

Seems like I've been waiting to do this for ages. Well, the planets aligned just right and it went in today! Here are install pics - and some are "in progress" so bolts and nuts may not be tightened up yet.

    Here's the oem link:

The Metcos are a thing of beauty:

    I haven't given them a proper thrashing.

    You'll Definitely Notice the Difference

You'll like the upgrade Donny! Had mine installed last summer at Indy. Picked it up at the Metco Tent during the drag racing event, and went directly to Collins L-M. Ordered it by phone and they brought it out to MV II.

Couldn't wait to do it. Showed up late at KB's place for the BBQ, all the food was gone, LOL!

There is a definite difference. You can notice in cornering and in lane changes, it's more precise.

It helped that my car already had upgraded sway bars, control arms, widened rear wheels, and Toyos all around, but both my brother and I could tell the difference.

Just need to do the QA1s now. -kjs-

I helped install a set to another member's MM. Deflating the rt rear air spring can be difficult. BTW, Is the tubocharger in the pic part of your next project?????

Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:
    Alex "Marauderboi" Vachon 3/2/92-8/13/10
    Paula Babineau 1/9/67-8/2/11
    Rex Weinbender
    Peter

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

Actually, there are TWO turbos sitting there.

Not mine, sadly. Somebody else's project in progress.

I got mine in a few weeks ago and the difference is noticeablly better but not a drastic change in handling IMO.

I didn't expect a lot either. I got them with the control arms on the group buy and the main reason was for the greaseable polyurethane bushings, but the billet aluminum looks great under the car and the whole set-up is top-of-the-line, best available parts and I'm sure it's going to prove very durable.

Read the directions and you'll find the passenger side air bag does not have to be deflated. Mine said to use a little petroleum jelly to lube the bag where the bolt touches it and it came out fine. The new bolt supplied goes in easy and be sure to wipe off the Vaseline so the bag won't gather dirt there.

Piece of pie. Easy as cake.
