Exclamation KB Dead Pedal wont fit

When I installed my Kenny Brown dead pedal the emergency brake pedal hit it....it would not even go halfway down...pedal normal travels 4"...hit pedal at 2"....
just for reference...measured level and horizontally, the pedal travels 7" from full out to full down position...
I redrilled the backer plate 1 1/2" toward the firewall and spot welded two more nuts...
the pedal works great now, but can't figure out why this happened...haven't sent info to KB yet, but will shortly...
attached is a pic of the redrill back plate and one with the pedal on it...
    anybody else have this problem?...

If you installed it correctly, it should have looked like this:

IIRC, there was a a typo in the instructions, but I would have assumed it had been corrected by now. Mine was put on by somebody who'd done several, so it went quickly and correctly the first time.

    Parking Brake out of adjustment??

I worried about this type of interference before I installed my Kenny Brown Dead Pedal...
but there was plenty of room between the fully depressed/engaged emergency brake and the dead pedal.

I'm pretty sure it's installed correctly...it was fairly simple...the back plate slips under the hood release handle mechanism...replace front bolt with longer new one and use back stud to hold rear of plate...it really can't go anywhere else...
I'd like some folks to tell me what their parking brake travel is...
    really measure it don't guess...

I have the KB dead pedal, installed it myself per instructions 3 yrs. ago. I have no problems with any type of interference with the brake pedal or travel.
When the brake pedal is fully engaged, it's a 3 inch travel for me.

I also felt that I could not move the brake much, then after playing around with how everything fits I have no problems and enough clearance to set the parking brake.

Mine did not interfere, but I moved the mounting nuts anyway so it would fit me better!
Thanks to Darrin @ BC Automotive:

My pedal didn't interfere at all with the parking brake but that's by design

My parking brake didn't clear either. The pedal also looked not straight (top leaning right or bottom left). I shimmed with 2 washers on bottom mount bolt to align visually which also made it clear the parking break pedal.

I'm do to take her in for service shortly...I'm going to have them check the Emergency Brake travel.... I may then add two more nuts so I can move the dead pedal a little closer to me (farther off floor)...
Anyway...thanks guys for all the input...helpful as always....
