I received a new XCAL2 tune from DR. ( It fixed my check engine light due to my recent Kooks kit installation.)
My original DR tune shifted into second at 6200. The new tune shifts at 5500.
Which do you guys recommend.

Sounds like the wrong program.
Double check with the tuner, it is not programed for 3:55 gears.

Since you have kooks and can take advantage of high rpm power go for it.
I would not exceed 6000 rpm regaurdless.
