I don't know what I want to do right now. Not sure if I want to swap frames, buy another Merc or just sell everything and buy something else. Just not motivated right now.
So instead I went out and bought myself a nice 2017 Expedition EL as my new daily driver.
So now I have double boost in the Expe

Had rear tire slow leak re-repaired (properly this time) at Walmart. Had it ‘repaired’ previously with a plug - continued to leak. Walmart dismounted the tire from the rim, drilled out the plug, patched it from the inside, balanced and remounted it for $10 - all is good.
Marauder tires currently have 14k miles and were installed over 12 years ago by the previous owner. Look good but contemplating new tires due to age. My ’05 Mustang received its first new tires ever last month at 29k miles and my ’06 Ranger will receive its first new tires ever this week at just under 41k miles.

Knowing that Walmart is ‘litigation adverse’ I will trust they did the repair correctly. They originally didn’t want to fool with it but were impressed with the car over all. The tech who repaired my tire was impressed with the car. He bought an older Audi A8 in ‘like new condition’ at a fire sale price. He believes he’s a fair mechanic but parts prices floored him.
Regarding ‘old tires’: my experience has been once the tires get ‘too old’ (even with good tread) they will get noisy and vibrate. Mustang’s tires reached that point not long before replacing them and Ranger’s tires have just reached that point recently. Marauder’s tires seem to be good at the moment but I’m cognizant of the situation. I’m religious about inflation pressure, rotation and wear pattern.

From my experience, I never noticed any noise and/or vibration on the second set of BFG tires my dad put on her; but upon close inspection, I noticed some dry rot & then checking the manufactures info (Critical IMO!), I decided to play it safe, I hope you do as well Invective.

Came home hot and sweaty from 10 hours of volunteer work at my son's school (I'd left my son a note to come volunteer and he never showed), and then noted he also hadn't taken his car to the local full service car wash as I had asked him to three times last week. His car was filthy as he parks under trees at school and had bird droppings, leaves, serious dirt and even twigs stuck to his hood.
So, being that he is 18 and I couldn't really give him a time-out, I quickly decided it was time for a time-in. I asked him to get his shoes on and meet me outside w his car keys while I went outside and packed two buckets full of towels, glass cleaner, car wash soap, and wheel shine.
He came out, I asked him to follow me in his car, and we drove to the local quarter sprayer where we rinsed his car, hand washed it, and he dried it. We then did my mine. We then did the interior, Windows, and rubber on both cars.
We had a good quiet hour working together, and it was actually fun! He didn't complain once. And I do know that next time I tell him to take his car to the local full service car wash-- won won't blow it off. And if he does we will have another great hour together.
Looked out the window this AM, and saw two CVSports, both spotless. Wierd thing is, and I noticed this again yesterday. Even with same size wheels and staggered tires, his HPP has a much better, meaner stance than mine!
