    Tire recommendations ?

Need new set of tires. Asking for tire recommendations, preferably a little wider than stock.

    Thank you in advance -

Well, I would have said the Nitto NT555's in a 235/50 front and 265/50 rear, but you can't get those anymore and the NT555 G2 does not come in a 265/50 as it's not a normal size.

I mean right now I'm running 255/45 and 295/45 NT555 G2's on the DTR. Black car has 245/45 and 265/50 NT555's from the DTR.

If you're fine with a slightly taller rear tire, the Nitto 420S in a 255/55R18 is/was a popular choice (ran those years ago). Don't expect them to hook on a blower car but for N/A they're fine.

I had 255/45 on the front and 265/50 on the rear. Nitto makes the NT555 Extreme in 265/50 (summer only tire).

Prior to the setup above I ran 235/50 front and 255/55 rear.

That's the problem with a lot of the old threads on tires - a lot of stuff that was popular isn't available anymore. That's why I started a new thread, when there are tons of old threads I could look up. Plus times change - Firestone Wide Ovals were popular for a while, so we're Coopers, Hankooks etc.

Do the 295/45/18 fit on non widened wheels?

I like my Cooper RS3-G1s in the stock sizes. Great all weather/season performance. I can't attest to anything in terms of track performance, but they seem to be sticky enough for the street. They've got a good warranty on them too.

i have the 295s on a few marauders with stock width wheels, everyone on this site says they cause the car to sway and not ride right.

Cars ride and drive fine, i take corners fairly quick and never have i had the rear end shift around like some here ***** about.

I'm leaning towards these, jut for convenience.
Tire Rack has them in stock for a reasonable price. I'd like to go +1 on the sizes but I haven't been able to find 4 matching tires in a recommended +1 combo.

Yeah, they're not as aggressive as the Nitto 555s I used to have on the car, but they sure as hell weren't as expensive either. If discount tire direct is running a rebate or promotion, the Coopers can be had for around 500 and some change. Cooper makes a great tire and while I would have liked to go a little wider on the rear tire, I can honestly say I haven't been disappointed with the RS3-G1 at all. They're actually rated as a performance driven tire as well, so you might be pleasantly surprised. Check out some of the research and testing done on them.

    They sound good.
I am a lot more prone to use the car on longer highway trips now, vs lighting stuff up around town, but I have some extra rims I can use if I need something stickier in the rear.

Nitto states they are for 9-11.5" wide wheels. Ours are 8" wide.

They fit in the same way the stance kids fit 225 width tires on a 10" wide wheel. It "fits".

Discount tire seems to claim they have 265/50/18's in stock (option is not greyed out like other sizes)
