    Temperature gauge

    Hello Marauder Friends,
First and foremost thank you all for your contributions and willingness to assist.
I have replaced the thermostat in my 03 Marauder twice and each thime my temp gauge is about 1/4 from reading in the red. I see no sign of water pump leak, or hose leaks. What can this be? Thanks in advance

Make sure the thermostat is install correctly. Most likely the system needs to be burped.

Coolant refill procedure for a 4.6L DOHC.

What fastblackmerc said...these motors have burping procedures to expel air from system. When the system has been opened, it will need to be burped. You have symptoms of an air pocket not allowing water to flow

Myself and a few other local Marauder owners have used the process in the link with 100% success.
You "feel" the difference because you want to "feel" the difference. Since you just spent money on the upgrade you "have" to feel the difference

I'm looking to eliminate the double pump process I have to follow right now to get the pedal hard

That's what I used for mine too. Takes a few heat cycles to get all the pockets of air out. I used wheel ramps as well. Or park on a hill...

I have one of DR's original rear head cooling mod which makes the process easier.
