    bearing replacement

I'm having the pinion bearings replaced.

I was quoted 5 hours of labor and $325 by the local dealer. Is this close enough on dollars to let them do it or can I save lots of $ by going to another shop?

    Thanks,

My dealer quoted me $400 to install 4:10 gears.

I then found a place that specializes in rear-ends/differentials called Hoopers.

They did the gears install for $200 and it took 3.5 hours.

You might want to find a shop that specializes in rear ends/differentials in your area.

Call around. Sometimes these places are hard to find - I called local transmission shops for references.

At a dealershipI would say that's about right. In the Phila. area, the performance shops get $250.00 to install gears.

In my opinion....that's a great price!

Only Dennis could beat a price that low. And if you can't drive to Florida in under and hour and a half...he can't either.
