    anti-theft keys

Does anyone know if changing the marauder's ECM will invalidate the current chip in the key causing the engine not to start? I had this done by the dealer about 1.5 yrs. ago and just got around to checking spares and they will not work. One key works, apparently the one the that was left with dealer.

yes. because of the PATS system. The resistance in the pats module needs to match the ecm.

i think. don't quote me on that though. someone with the helms manual could give a little more insight.

Yes, but you should be able to take those keys to the dealer to get programmed. They should have asked you for your other keys when they had to install the new ecm.

How many working keys do you have? If you have two working keys then you can program the other key(s) with them. Just insert the first key, turn forward but don't start, watch the anti-theft light and when it goes off take that key out and insert the second good key and repeat, when the anti-theft light goes out insert the non-working key and turn it forward, wait about six to eight seconds then remove the key, reinsert and try to start the car. It should start ok with the previously unprogrammed key. If it doesn't then don't keep retrying it as the security will kick in and lock all the keys out for a while.

If you only have one working key then it will need to be programmed at the dealer.

Hopefully that will save you a trip.

If it's like my scoob when I BBQ'D the ecm all keys are thrown from memory. I had 2 spare keys for mm and only worked if I remote started the car 1st. Was my way of keeping a spare key in car in event I lost originals. Had fob seprate and hidden in linning of *something* no where near key to remote start it. Process was enter door code, grab key, retrive the remote, disable alarm, remote start, turn cylinder and go.
