    The replacement for the Marauder

I'm sure some of you saw my "For Sale" post, although it didn't have many bites (nor did I think it would).

I finally had to let go of the old girl, 225k miles and she served me well. I got $2,500 out of her, which I consider damn good since I paid $4,300 and got 3 years/50k miles out of it with almost no repairs.

I've actually had the Volt for a month, and I absolutely love it. It's a 2013 with 124k miles on it. I've never seen myself as a hybrid owner, but I've always been fascinated by the thought of commuting without gasoline. I fully expect this to be a long-term vehicle and hope to see 200k out of it, just like the Merc.

So far I'm averaging ~103 MPGe. My daily commute is completely covered by electric, with a single nightly charge. I'm currently sitting at 900 miles on this tank of fuel, well on my way to an 1,100 mile fill up. This should end up to be about once a month for my driving patterns.

I've already done a few mods. HID's in the projectors, DRL with headlights mod, LED switchbacks in the front turn signals, LED plate lights, LED interior dome lights, Dayton Audio tweeters with Pyramid 6.5" woofers in the doors and an Alpine KTP-445U amplifier.

And since I'm sure someone will ask... it was $8,500 - the $2,500 from my MM giving me a nice little upgrade for $6,000. 10 years newer and 100k less miles!

Everyone likes to give me a hard time about buying the Volt, yet are oddly fascinated by it. To be fair; the Marauder didn't exactly reel in the ladies either! Caught plenty of dude's interest, though...

Have had coworkers who owned Volts. They seem to love it. I've ridden in it, so seems like a good car.
