    Tiny pimples on my hood

After a two day rainstorm, I noticed tiny pimples on my hood. Bad paint prep? Will be taking it to paint shop this week. Any ideas/advice?

Clay bar and see if the pimples are on top of your clear coat ?

I use the clay bar a lot, it will even pull paint overspray off the car and give it a smooth surface

can you put some pics up? The only time I have seen similar to what you describe is when paint work was done a while back and there was water in the air system. But without knowing the cars history myself I'm only guessing . how long have you had it and it seems you noticed it right after the rain storm?

Trying to see via cell pic, that looks like rust popping thru. Bad paint prep or poor metal quality...

    I agree........

Try a clay bar... you have nothing to lose.

I would run from da shop who painted that

Not saying the orange peel is horrible, but the clear coat should have been there to prevent the paint from sucking up the water. Just a guess, try popping one of those pimples and see if water comes out..

It will need to be completely stripped to bare metal, metal etched, primed painted and cleared

    Sorry for your luck

What he said. Unfortunately whether it's rust, water or both something is trying to get To the surface from the bottom and causing separation. Hopefully the hood is the only real problem area on your car. Just make sure wherever you go makes you feel completely comfortable about the repair process or do not use them. Best of luck with it .

I remember a UAW employee describing how the painting process was compromised in a few ways.
The first was a "One Shot" method where the sheet metal has a electrical charge and the Paint & Clear were applied simultaneously.
The other issue was a prep work fopa , where they did not entirely clean the painting equipment from the solvents , thus "watering down" the paint.
He said , at the same time of manufacturing, the Harley Davidson F-150'$ were getting the works!
He said, " We should have been so lucky to have the same level of quality finish, for the Marauder!

I had a complete strip / repaint in 2012, those little blisters turned to cracks on the top panels .
The top of the car had a quarter size rust spot eventually.
