    Must be a Park Lane or something with the Marauder engine. Kirk will know, he knows everything! Still a nice car and at the moment cheap.

    Back then when you wanted a Marauder you ordered a Park Lane then added the S55 package to make it a Marauder.

    "The Marauder name first appeared as a 1963½ model in the full-size Mercury lineup. It was available as a 2-door hardtop with a forward-slanted "fastback" roofline; this was the reverse of the Breezeway roof introduced on other full-size Mercurys. This fastback roofline was developed for both the Mercury Marauder and the Ford Galaxie for NASCAR competition, and may have helped with the many 1963–64 Ford Mercury victories. In 1964, the Marauder became available in a four-door sedan, also with a fastback roofline. It was an option on the Monterey, Montclair, and Park Lane. Marauders also featured bucket seats, central consoles, and other trim items similar to those in the Ford Galaxie 500/XL.

    Be careful what you believe on Wikipedia. The Marauder was not an option in 1964, it was a separate model, 6 models in fact. And they didn't all come with bucket seats.

    Here's the scoop on this car. In 1966 and 1967 Mercury made the S-55. It was not a Marauder, Monterey, or any of the others. In these two years it was just Mercury S-55. As the car ad says, it was the Mercury equivilent of the Ford 7-Litre, except you couldn't get the 427 in the Merc. The 428 was the only engine, rated at 345 HP. It was not the same 428 they put in the Shelbys. 4-speeds were available, but very rare.

    This looks like a decent car with a resonable price target. Hope someone can save it.
