    Rear Ended---Again!!!!

OK, it's only been a few months since some &*%#* uninsured driver rear ended me. Got everything fixed, and I'm driving along minding my own business and BAM! I get rear ended again! And not only is this guy uninsured, he doesn't have a license!
I exchanged information with him (Houston police won't come to a traffic accident unless the cars are undriveable or there is an injury), and then I ran his info on www.publicdata.com . It turns out that he has two prior convictions for Driving While License Suspened, and he's actually on probation right now for a DWLS conviction. I called his probation officer to report this and try to have his probation revoked and send his butt to jail.
Now, my insurance will have paid two claims in one year and I'm sure that my rates will go up because of two sleazeballs.

Sounds like good grounds for a civil suit. Even if he can't pay now... down the road!
I've often wondered if you could get the cost of your insurance costs going up from someone like this?

Best way around this is to claim a sore back or neck.

Doesn't mean you might not feel fine the next day. Or not. The police are obligated to take and file a report then.

No response from the Houston PD is BS IMO.
In NYC the uninsured / unlicensed driver would get arrested.

I agree that it's BS. But for some years now, the policy here has been that the city is too big, with too many fender benders to send PD to each one. Of course, that leaves the drivers involved in a "he said, she said" contest about what really happened with no independent eyes looking at the accident scene.
Here, IF the PD would have come to the scene, the unlicensed driver would also have been arrested. Of course, you have to get the PD to show up first...

Tell 911 you just got hit by an uninsured driver, so you beat him half to death with a baseball bat. That'll help. (j/k!!)
